Mrs, Wiggin -
I did a quick search, and looks like you'll be in the same backyard - we're at 815 Duval. Just made reservations this weekend, arrive Weds. leave the following Tues.

We also have never been to Key West, and were hoping that we chose a good spot.

I'm looking forward to this trip in the worst way - really need to re-charge the batteries.

I've been a little worried that this might not be the best place to stay(not for any real reason, just unfamiliar with the are.), anyone that's been there and know's the area - some assurance would go a long way.

Look forward to meeting up with everyone there.

Hey bouyhunter,
Guess we're in the same boat (no pun intended)!

Maybe we can get an OSO get together going like FountainCS suggested. Any suggestions on time and place by those familiar with Key West would be great!

We rented the southern most house, right next to the bouy, a couple years back. It's owned by one of the Johnson's of Johnson and Johnson, the one that is the artist. Probably one of the nicest houses on the island, 5 BR, sleep another 4 in the great room, pool, dock, elevator and very private. $10K/ week but if you get several couples it really isn't that expensive.

I believe Reggie rented that house for this race week. He said we should all stop by and say hello anytime.

I've never been either. I booked a room at the Crowne Plaza on Duval last night thorugh Expedia. Has anyone stayed there before?

Where is the best place to see the race from?

Crowne Plaza is great. Stayed there many times. Location is key. If you want to get any sleep at night, a couple hours anyway, ask for a room off of the Duval side. By the time you go to bed though, you usually just pass out anyway. Enjoy. If we don't rent the house, I have a reservation for there also. Look for my OSO Koozie.

Mrs. wiggin ( and Mr. wiggin),

We'll make sure we meet up with you - as well as everyone else.

I think this topic is already moving to another thread started by Mrs. Patriyacht...
I'd link to it, but my computer savvy is similar to Puder's typing.

Hi Cat,

You're in a nice quiet area but close to the action, about 2 blocks to Duval Street, just about where Margaritaville is, and probably 4 or 5 short blocks to Sloppy Joes.

There's not much there in the way of beaches, but you'll love Key Weird, I mean Key West. hah! We'll see you there for sure, a couple dozen of us in town that week.
