Default 28 Skater??

Thinking about this boat. It is a clean local boat. How good are the 2.5's and what should I look for? Lowers recently built by Diamond.

Default Re: 28 Skater??

I just bought a 28 Skater. It has 300 promax's but looked at a couple with 2.5's. They are proven motors. They are also high strung motors, so expect the normal high performance problems. That will be a perfect balanced boat with the weight of the 2.5's. The boat is extremely fun to drive, it rides very nice once you get through the porpoise, and turns very well. I had it out in some pretty nasty water last weekend and the boat handled more than I could. Diamond marine has been in the industry for a long time and knows there stuff. I have never dealt directly with them but have heard good things. Check out www.screamandfly.com for outboard questions.
