I did not see the Fountain kilo boat all weekend. Kind of surprising since Reggie was scheduled to be at Raymonds (not sure if he made or not) on Saturday for his annual meet the customers day with Charlene and crew.

Terry I am saving the "good pictures" for leverage on a 50 one of these days! :drink: You did look awful pretty in my girlfriends hat though :p .

The announcers needed serious help! I was watching them on TV Sunday morning and the guy was trying to explain "naturally aspirated". He said that was a fancy word meaning carburated   I don't know what these guys do for a living, but its not boating. It looked like Kilocat was amused by some of their comments when they were interviewing him :D

I had great time at the Shoot Out this weekend. I didn't introduce myself to too many people. Hangover. Lack of sleep. Drunk. You know the drill. Parnell, very nice to meet you. Summer Obsession I was standing right next to you when you were talking to Mr. Sobo and the PB Mag photog walked up.

Friday night at Franky and Louie's was a blast. If you haven't been there, I suggest you go. Its a great place to party at the 10MM.

Where was Dirty Duck, I think Slug could have run by him self in that class.

OSO (steve) it would have been good exposer for the board even if you didn't win your class.

I heard at one time they had over 60 boats at the start boat ready to run. Back in the day they only sent out about 10 to 20 boats at a time to the start boat. They would then check in, the start boat would take down their #'s and tell them who they ran after. It always seemed to run pretty fast!! I heard that this year they were going to the boats at the start boat with a sign of who was next, and that really held everything up!!

The hold up was in the staging box area.

Once you get the yellow flag, you need to
move right up to the bouy at the beginning of the start box.

I can understand the reasoning on the 100 + mph guys
trying to get the momentum, but there was some ( > 100) that didn't need
the extra distance, that would lag through it.

I thought the board indicating who was on deck was a good
idea. ( when your floating out there for hours, you tend to lose
track of the # of boats going through)

All in all, it was a good time.

That's us in post 38 middle picture.

I listed OSO as my sponsor..... did anybody hear it
on the radio ?

( I recorded it ( vcr) off of channel 9, but haven't watched it yet.)

Re: What... no pics or updates from LOTO?

JT,
If you recorded the event, I would be interested in getting a copy of my 2 runs if you have them. I was #67 on Saturday (right after Recovery at about 2:30), and #27 on Sunday (ran about 12:30).

I had also heard that the TV station had copies of the event for sale, but I did not want 12 hours of tape.

Anyone else record from the broadcast?

Have they posted all results yet? I have not been able to find them on their website.

Thanks,
Doug

Re: What... no pics or updates from LOTO?

Last year it took me several hours of waiting to get to my slot. It's just part of the game.

We got quite a few pics of the cove. Unfortinatly, the developer determined that they were not appropriate to print. :D

BTW-they were doing a voice over in the AM on Sunday. Apparently nobody bothered to check their outfeed and they didn't know they were not broadcasting a visual.

Re: What... no pics or updates from LOTO?

Doug,

I have taped both days on 2 separate tapes,
due to the length.

My plan is to edit out the hours of ad's and
dead space when the commentators were just
b.s.ing, so it will fit on one tape.

Once I get it done, I'll send you a copy.

The shootout website still appears not to be updated yet.

Re: What... no pics or updates from LOTO?

I heard several times that boats were sponsored by Offshore Only.com and I saw the Gladiator on TV once. Since we didn't go sunday I would catch about 15 minutes per hr on TV and had the radio on down at the the dock.
