100% trouble free season!!!
Well folks, it's not impossible after all!!!
With Labor Day now behind us and the boating season officially over up here in Maine, I can say that I've experienced first hand, a very rare occurrence in the performance boating world..
The 2004 boating season was just incredible. Thanks to my Konrad 540 drives and freshened 700 hp blower motors by Dorr's Marine Engines, we have logged just over 100 hrs on the 'ol Top Gun and every one of them were totally trouble free. Other than regular oil changes and minor preventative maintenance, all we did this season was put fuel in the boat. Still running the same plugs that were installed during spring commissioning. (thanks to Nickerson Performance)
The Konrad drives are the real thing folks, I've done everything to them that you're not supposed to do and there hasn't been the slightest bit of fuzz on the drain plug magnets. Hammered it out of the hole like it was a Mastercraft all year long. Slamming the throttles and just plain beating on it like it was an ANVIL (yes Phil, I know I should not do that) and absolutely no drive failures this year! I can't break them.
If you would like to TOTALLY ELIMINATE drive failures completely, check out the Konrad 540's, they are an incredibly well-engineered unit. I'm convinced I can't afford to run anything else.
Kurt

Re: 100% trouble free season!!!
Kurt, congratulations, when does the "made for TV" mini series come out?
Ahh, Sebago Lake, brings back, well kind of anyway, many fuzzy memories.
Then there's Mooshead, and over to NH to "Lake Winni".
Rockland, just south of Camden, has some real nice launch ramps to the Atlantic, better than any other I ever used up there for access to the ocean.

Re: 100% trouble free season!!!
Kurt, glad you've had a good summer. Has it snowed up there yet? Did you get the boat into any big water this summer?
Other than maintenance and something I hit in the water (bent a prop/prop shaft) I've had a summer like yours. My ole' Bravos are still kicking. Lost one fuel sender and my stereo head unit.

You just S*UK!! (and I mean that in the kindest way! )
Let's see....last weekend alone we broke an alternator belt and the impeller on the starboard engine and all three brand new distributor coils got wet....no power in 7 footers. Last weekend was supposed to be nice....that is the last time I ever listen to an overpaid weather person.
