first of all a 38 fountain is not a 38 fountain it's more like a 35 fountain. second if ya want to hang out with the big boys on the big waves forget it about a fountain. yes they might be the fastest v-hull but where in a lake lol that to me and many people isn't offshore. third of all, a cig is a cig period. as long as that #1 is on the side ya have nothing to worry about. all i have to say, when the waves are bigger then 4 ft do ya see any fountains running noooooooooooo and that's when the fun begins . a cig is like a ferrari it's the sexiest nicest sporty car around and a fountain is like a corvette fast but looks cheaper then cheap. like they say "THE LEGENDS OF TODAY ARE THE CLASSICS OF TOMORROW " CIGARETTE 1

Really?? Ever watch offshore boat races?? guess not.

It's nice there is a place where Cig owners can feel more secure with their purchases and click together.

I will say compare the gun to the 42' for the ride.

I've been in some 42's and unfortunately they just don't compare. Yes they are much faster with comparable power. In rough water the ride was wet at slower speeds and because of the low freeboard. The one good attribute regarding the 42 Fountain was when you started going fast the ride would smooth out and you could cruise over the top of them but that wasn't until 60-70 mph. The Cig is totally different in rough water, its solid, higher freeboard and just feels safer in my opinion.

38 cig vee bottom is the most refined hull ever. it handles better than anything in all conditions and the rough water ride at speed is amazing.
Tied for second is the 42 cig vee bottom and the 43 nor-tech. All of the above have superior fit and finish. Third place goes to the 38 Sonic.
For a twin step, the 38 cig offers a bit more stability and quality of build than the fountain and a much drier ride.
