Replacement 496 engine cover???
Does anyone make a better looking engine cove for the 496?
I have a friend that wants to spruce up his motor box some by getting rid of that plastic cover.
Whipple was going to offer some, but states the demand was so low, he decided not to offer those.
Who else makes one??

Hey Bill.
Just swap out your 575s with his 496 that should make him happy.

I talked to Dustin too. I wanted them for mine, along with a new Flame Arrestor. Oh well.
My suggestion would be to paint them. Make sure they use a flex agent. Sunsation and a few others have done this, with great results. If they tape off the 496 sticker well enough, you won't even have to R&R it.

Re: Replacement 496 engine cover???
There was a guy on OSO a couple years back making nice machined and polished billet aluminum covers for 496s. They had flames cut into it or something like that. Looked pretty trick, but pricy.
Here's a thread:

Unfortunately, the pic in the thread at the time doesn't show up since it's so old, but the guy's contact info is there.
