vette131.....This is about the third time in the last eight years or so that I've heard the same rumor from Ford. They said they were going to do that during the later production model 7.3, again when they started with the new 6.0, and now again in 05. No offense, but it's starting to sound like a case of crying wolf to me.

boot....LOL! I don't know about the "loaded" part so I can buy tires whenever I want. I like to think of it as advertising expenses. ;)

Re: 6.0 Powerstroke diesel programmers

boot i'm a ford tech from the n.o. area. i have a 7.3 with a diablo that i love. i install a few chips from time to time so i hope it doesn't happen, but my
source is well conected & he knew alot of details about what would trigger the code. engineering was still playing with the limits to make sure a stuck
vgt solenoid or bad boost sensor wouldn't trigger the code. i've seen 35psi boost on a truck with a stuck solenoid & simular numbers with stuck turbo
blades. in both cases the truck didn't make any power because the computer
wouldn't add the required fuel.to trigger the tamper code , the computer would have to see excessive boost with excessive fuel to match.i'm sure there will be a way around it but some people will get burned before the aftermarket responds.by the way i've seen 27psi boost on a stock 6.0, wow!!
