Leaving a boat in Lake Travis

I am considering keeping my boat in a slip with no lift on Lake Travis. Do any OSO members do this on Lake Travis? My main concern is with algea growing on the bottom. Does anybody know if it stains permanately?

Thanks

Unless you really do not value your boat I would get a lift. I have left my boat in the water for about a week & it was a lot of work to get it back looking new.

Lake Travis is pretty warm water so algae grows fast. I wouldn't recommend leaving a boat in it for more than a couple of weeks.

I left mine in for summers at a time, it was an old terd. It made the gelcoat blister and the stains were a b*tch to get off. There was a on/off type acid that you spray on to get it off. wouldnt recommend it unless the bottom was painted.
