The newest Motor Trend has a bake off between the new M5 V-10 and the Benz E55. The E55 is slightly faster, but other than that the M5 smoked it in all other categories. Great article.The new 7 speed transmission in the M5 can crank off shifts in 65 milliseconds. Not sure I can blink that fast.

get a nice lightly used M5, you can't go wrong with 400 horse and room for 5

Any idea how much $$$ for the 2005 M5 ? My guess is it got the Mercedes in handling with no problem .

I've been trying to find a chip to boost the HP in my E55 with no luck...anyone know where to get one ??

new 05 m5 will be 85-90 depending on options, gas guzzler etc..

MT has it estimated the new M5 at 82K, I think Sean is right on at 85K plus. The BMW did shine on the handling. The new V-10 is getting 500hp, but only 384 lbs of torque compared to the E55 AMG having 469 horses and 516 lbs of torque.
