No, my 2500 01' Dodge Ram V-10 quad cab long bed 4x4 SRW pulls my boat which total is over 10K JUST FINE. Tow rating for my truck is 12,600 lbs.

Just sold this one for 36k, incl all the adds, 25k miles, top, carbon fiber dash, carbon fiber bug guard, white rain deflectors, Edge/Attitude, Dppi turbo back duals, AFE proguard 7 filter, bedliner, new Michelons, guy is coming down with a deposit, he sees my truck all the time,I trade every year on my personal truck, and he tried to buy my other truck last year, no questions asked, he said after discount 50k/43k plus 3k for all the adds he would be at 46k , 10k savings for 25 thousand mile truck. I Ive got to do is pull the decals off. Now Im wondering or second guessing, did I sell to cheap. Jeff

I tow 8000 with an F350 SRW 4x4 xcab psd. No problems and could easily do more.
You said you Cig was pretty well balanced?? This could be part of your white knuckle problem. I had the same problem with my Formula bringing it home with a Tahoe:eek: Scared the chit out of me. Moved the boat forward 3 inches on the trailer and it made a world of difference

190hp? 6.5 Turbo Diesel? That is what was in my last truck, except it was a 3500 4x4 crew cab. My '02 2500HD has a higher GVW than my old one ton. I've pulled 12K around behind it and still been able to run 70+ up the hills. I'd look for a used Duramax/Allison before I went to a V-10 gasser. I got used to running hills and being at 40mph at the top so I know what you're going through. Mine had 245K on it when I sold it.

A srw duramax would whip that thing around no problem,my o4 2500hd is rated to tow the same as the dually. Your van on the other hand doesn't even have a frame under it(unibody construction),Smitty

I tow my 31 Cig on a steel Loadmaster tri-axle with a 04 Chevy 2500HD 4x4 SRW with the 8.1 Gas big block/Allison Transmission. The truck pulls it great.
