Re: Prop Testing
Those are good numbers Gary!!! Flat water slows me down about 5 mph. Get it back out there with a good 2 foot chop and you've got 80 easily!!

Re: Prop Testing
yes the numbers were
578 ft-lbs @4500 and 559 hp @ 5600 the horse power was still climbing at the rate of 2 hp per 100 rpm at this point but I think I was going to run out of carb.

Klaw,
I would try a set of 24 Bravo 1's. Your motors need to spin up based on your dyno numbers.
Since Ket West is right down the road from you are you going to be there during the Worlds next week?
We will be set up in the dry pits. Stop by and we can talk about your set up and goals and make some suggestions about what may work for you.

Re: Prop Testing
24'S WOULD SLOW IT DOWN ,It would get the rpm up but you need the higher pitch props for the forward travel which in the end result more speed .
we can get 300 rpm out of working the 26 pitch props. Darin

Gary,
It's all about the torque band of the motor.
Nice talking to you, look forward to meeting you in Key West. You won't be able to miss us in the dry pits. It's going to be a blast.

Re: Prop Testing
well this has always been a interesting topic which I have read about in car tests sometimes a car will actually run faster in 4th gear rather then 5th gear if you have the hp to get to a higher rpm.
I will be in the position to test this in my boat because I will have a set of 26 and a set of 24 props and will run them both.
In the end I will probably will have both sets of props because I like the fact the 26 give a better 55 mph cruise rpm but since I do boat alot on a river the hole shot of the 24 will be nice and if it truly can give nme more top end the better.
