Why I like Miami
Why I like Miami, By Kachina Ken.
Sushi Samba, Lisa the Brazilian keyboard player at the Fountainbleau hotel, Mojitos, more Mojitos, cold front winds, miami Beach, South Beach, intercoastal, the A1A, topless foregin sunbathers, More Mojitos.......... Etc.
Basically trying to say I had a good time in Miami this past week even though I was working at the God-Forsakken Fountainbleau the whole time. I gotta miss the worlds so I can get my rig back home for another show but soon I will be dragging the Kachina down to your part of town.

Here, here! Miami is great but I usually have to leave after 3-4 days (no sleep, too much liquor, etc). I can't remember the name of the place on Ocean where the chicks where leopard skin suits and dance on the bar....but it's a great place to get warmed up for the night. Lots of tourists on their first trip, but still cool.

Yeah, it's the closest to a "Riviera" type place as America will ever have I think. I travelled to Italy and did a show at a club in Rimini and it reminded me of Miami a little bit.

So What's a Mojito:
Definition: The mojito is the national drink of Cuba. It is as enjoyable as a summer vacation on the beach. It is made by combining mint (called "hierba buena" or "good herb" in Cuba) with syrup, lime juice, rum and club soda. The word "mojo" means "assemble" or "mixture" and that is exactly what this cocktail is: a very enjoyable and harmonious mixture of aromatic and tasteful ingredients.
Recipes:
Basic Mojito
Ingredients:
3 fresh Mint sprigs
2 tsp Sugar
3 tblsp Lemon juice (or lime), fresh
1 1/2 oz Light rum
Club soda, Chilled
Mixing instructions:
In a tall thin glass, crush part of the mint with a fork to coat the inside. Add the sugar and lemon juice and stir thoroughly. Top with ice. Add rum and mix. Top off with the club soda (or seltzer). Add a lemon slice and the remaining mint. Serves one.
