Show us your models
A lot of us racers had models made of our boats back in the 70's and 80's......This is the model I had made of my race boat and tow rig.
I found a guy who made the original molds for Revell models living in a trailer down in the hill country and sent my whole rig down to him for a few weeks. He crawled all over it and measured and remeasured everything and drove my driver crazy asking questions, but when he finished the job, I was very happy.
It has been sitting on my mantle for the last 25 years and looks as good today as the day he deliverd it to me at the Long Island race in 1979. I know Don Aronow had two models of the Cigarette made, one of which Mark McManus of Apache has.
Anybody else out there with pictures to post?

Well after seeing Top Banana's I'm not sure I can compete. Excellent display.
Will post mine later.

TB, That thing is just awesome. I wish they had a kit of it. I'd buy one and put it together for my mantle!

I remember watching that boat trying to get on plane before a race with two girls acting as ballast sitting on the very front of the bow ,with their legs hanging over. Ah the good ole days.

Thats really cool, something cool to have!
We have some model sail boats They are actually pretty cool if you look and see how they were hand done and all the details that are on them.

Re: Show us your models
My tenent has a 6' long model of a 41 Apache with twin #6 drives driven by a 8 H.P. nitrous motor. This thing is cool as beans! He says it will run about 60 m.p.h. I can't wait to see this thing run. Can't post pics ... no digital camera yet.

NO NO NO......That was not me.......Just to clear up that story forever.......I sold the boat and the buyer was supposed to change the name and the color scheme.....but he didn't change the name and he added a greenish color over the yellow........and then changed the number from #60 to #666......need I say more?
