It was $125 a month ago when I sent it down. Now almost $200 to get it back!!! This fuel cost is killing me!

Tim, what did you send all the way down there that you couldn't get fixed somewhere more local???

The machining of the head is something that has a very tight tollerance. My local shop already has one that is fubar. Figured, I'd send it to a competent shop so I don't have to tear into it again.

Could have sent it over here... I know of several shops that specialize in heads right in my neighborhood.... Would have saved you some time, $$, and you could have shipped it in the back of the Focus ans stayed with me and Vickie!!!!

Fraid' it's not that simple. Remember how I said that the local shop already had one that was fubar? They are running a .001 tollerance on this thing and apparently, shops have trouble meeting that requirement. I had my head decked locally. When I asked them what the runnout was, they said that it was in tollerance. I asked them if it was .001 side to side and .002 front to back max. The reply? It should be. They didn't get paid.

Well, Baker Engineering builds some world class race motors, I'm sure they could have gotten it where you want it. Food for thought if you need something in the future.
