I can make the point better:
Plaque or no plaque, it doesn't change the fact that we all know his name, and so many great brands.
The fact that this was a fringe "sport" when Don was doing his thing, and now Cigarette has become like Kleenex in terms of one brand standing for an entire class of products.
Only a marketing virtuoso could go down the same street selling the same company and concept over and over again.
The boater in me thinks he is ok. The marketing guy in me thinks he's a freaking genius.

we agree on that .don was and is every perf boaters hero me as well i grew up with his boats. i was around don and his boats in the 60s up to the point where i have owned and successfully operated 5 of his built designs up to the currant 41.he has my total respect.
