Default Pro/Cons Verado 07 Gen 1 vs 08 Gen 2

Another one of us "go fast" guy's, looking at a little older CC. Still Keeping the Cigarette TopGun though, at this point my heart will not let it go. Surveying 2 boats this week. One an '08 boat with '07 Gen 1 300 Verados and the other an 08 with Gen 2 08 300 Verados. I have done a lot of investigation on the internet about this subject, but hopefully find some with actual experience and/or knowledge in this area. Any help, I thank you in advance.

Seltzer, thanks, I have been through that one and all the others, but I have more faith in this board as questions I and others have asked in the past have been given direct experiences from OSO. That is what I am looking for, and I know there must be a lot of OSO members who have had this experience. Any personal experience or knowledge would be very helpful.

I had triple 275's on my Fountain and loved them. Engines were 2006 built.

Not a lot of experience to be honest, bought the rig 4 years ago with 210 hours and just sold it a couple of weeks ago with 280 hours on it. Sometimes lack of use is a bad thing so take that into consideration.

Serviced well by previous owner, I think he did a couple of recall updates in the first year but otherwise, nothing significant. I Replaced the external steering rams on two engines about a year ago, leaking, probably due to lack of use. Simple fix from the dealer and could happen to any Verado. Can't remember the name of the part but it was a rubber air induction tube had perished and was sucking air. Engine guardian system kicked in and the engine wouldn't idle below 1,500 revs. Easy fix again through the Merc dealer. Once again, I'd put it down to lack of use and they probably run the same thing on all of the Verados even now.

Great engines, incredibly smooth and quiet, couldn't say a bad word about them.
