nice boat. done in cooperation with fabio buzzi when he was still friends with reggie. the boat has trimax surface drives which is why the whole thing is bulletproof and performs so well. i think they actually saw 63 mph on one of these which is excellent performance with 3412 CATs. so i don't think the boat itself was the weak link.

the problem is the fact that the 65 puts fountain in direct competition with Baia, Pershing, Sunseeker, Magnum and the likes. And that is a difficult market because customers for that sort of boat are very painful ie. they expect more than perfection. and the fountain 65, although a well-engineered boat with great performance, was never finished to that sort of standard...

The yacht was an asolute turd as well as poorly laid out. They trashed the mold when the Pamlico flooded a few years ago and collected the insurance $$$ :D

Didn't the costs of building this thing almost put Fountain out of business at one point?
