Re: Considering Chevy 2500HD tow vehicle

ofshore, that's how I feel as well........

dows anyone know how to determine the power with the chip installed? Does this have to be determined via computer? Does a chip void the manufacturer warranty on the diesel engine?

For the most part, yes, it does void the warranty, there are some exceptions but if you buy the truck and take it to a dealership that didn't install the chip they won't warrenty it, plus they will flag the truck on OASIS so no other dealership will warrenty it either.

I've been thinking of moving up to a 2500 CrewCab Duramax/Allison pretty hard.

1998 2500 'Burb LT, 454 w/Gale Banks PowerPack Kit, AirLift 1000 rear suspension airbags, 2002 Alloy wheels, leather, heated seats, third seat, etc........... just hit 90K this morning, runs great and uses no oil.

I went and looked at 2500HD CrewCab Duramax/Allison today. A very nice Truck.

Re: Considering Chevy 2500HD tow vehicle

I have a 2500HD with the 6.0 litre engine right now. I'm going tomorrow to look at a 2500HD with Duramax. I will be pulling a Baja 33 Outlaw, #10,000 with gear and trailer.

Re: Considering Chevy 2500HD tow vehicle

I have a 2004 1/2 2500HD Crewcab 4x4 and I think that it is SECOND to NONE... I also have added the Edge Attitude chip and monitor and it has really made a big difference. As someone mentioned, they all are good, but I personally recommend the Duramax...
