Performance Powerboaters Raise $2,000 To Spread Christmas Cheer!
Performance Powerboaters Raise $2,000 To Spread Christmas Cheer and Support to New Jersey National Guard Families
Thursday December 23, 2004 - The New Jersey Performance Powerboat Club (NJPPC) channeled the good will of its members and indeed boaters throughout the country to help local National Guard families at Christmas time. In addition to the burden of having a loved one absent and often in harm’s way, it’s no secret that families of activated National Guard and Military Reservists often have a difficult financial adjustment to make. Rick Engstrom, a NJPPC Director, lead the effort to assist families in the club’s locale - Ocean County, New Jersey. Dave Patnaude, club President, donned a Santa’s cap and loaded Christmas Food Platters provided by club Director Pete Mazzo’s Berry Creek Restaurant into his shiny, red pick-up and made five stops visiting families in Toms River, Bayville and Barnegat New Jersey yesterday. In addition to the bountiful food assortment, each family received $400 to help make this Christmas a little better.
Dave Patnaude commented that the gesture unanimously brought smiles to faces of the often, young families. We understand that the smiles have now spread to all the faces of the Performance Powerboaters that helped out!
NJ Performance Powerboat Club would also like to thank Offshoreonly.com and Powerboat Magazine for assisting NJPPC in raising the donations.

Great work Dave! Our troops deserved every penny. And I would also like to thank OSO for keeping the thread alive!
