Need a Santa Claus with a $2000-$3000 pickup truck
 

Yesterday while I was making the rounds to some of the local National Guard families, I came across a family in Barnegat NJ in need of a used pickup truck.

The family needs to replace their Dad's car. He has been serving in IRAQ for the last 9 months. He came home for 10 days in October with a gun shot wound and shrapmetal in his face. Amazingly he was quickly shipped back and will be there until next month.

His car was in such bad shape they had it towed away and scapped. The mom's toyota is not looking too healthy either. Plus, the mom just got laid off to boot! They have 2 young kids as well.

QUESTION TO EVERYONE HERE:
1) Does anyone know of or have a contact that would donate a $2000 - $3000 pickup to the family?
2) Does anyone know of or have a contact for the family to purchase a pickup for $2000-$3000? She is going to cash in her 401k to pay for it.

She has no idea that I am going to try and help her with the truck.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Quite honestly, you should be able to get a pretty nice truck for $3000.

I had a '94 Z71 ExtraCab 4x4 that I let go for $3000. Lots of miles, a little mismatch in the paint in a couple places, but sound truck with no rust.

I'll keep my eyes open, but being in Tennessee won't help you much.

$3600 TOTAL!!!!!!!!!

Now we need to find a $3000 truck. $600 will be for Tax and Insurance.
