Since the stresses these hulls encounter at speed can't really be predicted very accurately, how do you decide how to lay up your hulls?

Do you calculate a certain percentage over what you feel is a minimum, or do the engineers actually come up with stress numbers that they feel the boat will never exceed and build accordingly?

vtec: Take a look at some of the pics of the Qatar boat and the other Victory built hulls on http://www.class-1.com/.

If you look closely, you will notice that there is definitely a spray rail (or whatever you want to call it) on the hull sides that is not present on the Tencara.

Yes. Some of the newer Victory boats have a spray rail. (I just looked at that web site)

Early Victory (after the Skaters) cat, which were Skater copies had the spray rail - just like Skater. Then the MYPD Victory cats did not have the spray rail. Now....it's back again.

MTI doesn't have the spray rail.

I wonder when the always wise in the ways of the cat, resident Dr. Evil - err- I mean Dr. Cat, aka T2x will privilege us with his personal view on this.... :evilb: :D

T2X will say their all Skater copies and...

"Go buy a Skater"

It's nice to see some legimate competition, which, will ultimately benefit the consumer.

T2x has left the country

Miller, I think T2x is away, I am sure he will see this when he comes back.

Philip, how are you? Where have you been hiding? I've been hiding under a big rock for the past year but I'm back now. When are you and Kim coming to the city? This year I'm definitely going to make a trip out to see you guys - I'll bring Valentina - and maybe I'll even finally get to ride on the Skater. Afterall, you've been offering for 3 years and I haven't taken you up on it yet, which is my BAD.

Let me know if you two come into the city. We'll get sushi. :evilb:

Usually that would be his answer. However, as demonstrated by his support for the Nortech 36, he has been known to recognize original, cutting edge designs or building techniques. Besides which, his answers always ENTERTAIN the brain! :D :p
