The CFD program would be nice help predict the design of the boats to calculate wetted surface area, strake locations, deadrise, (step angles & location) for speed and handling. (We don't have that software available for our use.)

Aero dynamics are equally important to speed and handling. The compression in the tunnel that creates lift to help nuetralize the weight can have a major effect on the performance of the boat, too much can make the boat flighty & quirky in turns, not enough can make the boat slower.
Aero dynamic balance is important to the performance of the boat. Once the boat leaves the water it is faster and safer to maintain a level attitude.
Air does not like to travel in a staight line. To reduce drag it is important eliminate as many sharp edges above the chine as possible. In the end speed and handing are all about compromise.

Thank you for the response.

We've already started cutting a new hull plug. We'll keep you posted. My wallet is hurting a little bit, but it's time to move on!

We are still working on the 38' deck will get some up dates soon!

I've always herd a ton of good things about the Al Copeland family from New Orleans. My son And I, along with our crew, had the pleasure of meeting Al Jr. & his wife Elizabeth on Friday. We gave them the three hour tour of both of our facilities. Al has a 38' on order , hopefully it'll be in the water by early summer.
