If you do not want it to skip the best bet is the sony music sticks. You can run your boat as hard as you want with them and you will NEVER get a skip. No moving parts.....

I've got an iPod running thru my Alpine head unit. Love it. Had to buy the adapter from Alpine for $80, but I no longer have CD's all over my truck.

My stereo works Just fine at any speed the mp3 gets knocked out from the G force

Were is that thing mounted? Is is mounted SUPER tight? I mean ablolustly no movement at all? They will definatly skip as they have a reader just like a CD but they are definatly more stable then a CD. Any time you have moving parts you can skip.
