Then again, Platinum is planning on taking offshore hull construction to a whole new level, so they might be a little pickier than Fountain or Cigarette.
Skater builds a solid product, but just because certain manufacturers are hiring them to build a hull or two doesn't necessarily mean Skater is the end all be all of boat construction. (Despite what Skater may advertise.) As people have been mentioning, there may be other factors involved that make subcontracting Skater a practical thing to do from a business perspective.

There is no offshore or power boat manufacturer that is the end all to boat making. If anyone really wanted the best builders then they would hire the guys that build boats like the America's Cup rigs

Re: 42 cigarette race boat
Those guys don't know anything about boats an motors. They bend over for the big one when they get the bill. They always have something to say about other boats bring your junks out if you have one. Birdman's money is on p.apache.I have real motors. The owner of the cigarette told me that he had real 1350hp motors the the boat screamed to 126 on gps call him.He told me the boat weighed 8500 pounds, in 1993 the boat out ran the apaches.
