What does that 35 Nordic run with 525s in it. I tried to find an article in my old PBs but couldn't find one. I'm interested in the difference in performance between the Ilmors and the 525s. I thought it ran near 90 with the 525s.

I have a 2004 35 with 525's saw 91 on the GPS. Another dealer in NY has same set up saw 93.7. I'm spinning 32 four blade labbed bravo's and want to try 33's. It's very safe to say that the boat will run a solid 90 GPS on any given day.

Very nice looking rigs. Interesting to see that they have the dreaded bow rails....

Thanks Gary. You have a great looking boat . That tells me that the Ilmors really aren't any faster than the 525s, at least not in the Nordic.

I think at the end of the day we will see much better numbers from the V10's. Bob Teague told Lonnie at Nordic that the 35 with V10 he tested should run 100 after break in and some chop. The thing that leads me to believe this is that they take 600 lbs out of the stern. We shall see.

I was never too sure about that weight thing. I know they are lighter, but not sure how much. The reason for my question of weight is I think Merc reports their weights including the out drives. I'm not sure Ilmor includes outdrives in their weights. Maybe somebody on the board knows.

If those Ilmors get 100 mph they have some bragging rights. If you hear anything about further testing once they are broken in, and maybe in better water at sea level, let us know.

I assume you are getting 90 in fresh water in the Cincinnati area? Is that true? Not sure that is so different than where they tested the Ilmors (Colorado River?)

I'm interested because I am having a new boat built this year and have been following the Ilmors somewhat trying to decide if that is a reasonable option to the 525s. I wrote off Merc's new 600s, they did not impress me much. But maybe the new Ilmors (625?) would be an interesting option.

Mental, we are an Ilmor dealer. I can arrange for a factory Representative to discuss the details with you. The cost Vs the 525 is about the same. Ilmor comes with a better drive.

If your interested let me know.

Nordic Gary
