Although not a CG requirement...you cant run a car oil pan or steel freeze plugs and have the motor live. Recirc pump needs to have a stainless impeller and backing plate and be bi directional.
BTW...my cafe aint cheap...but its reasonable.

What is bi directional? I assume spin either way, but why the need?

I always looked fondly at the brass lined intakes and saltwater resistance head gaskets. Do we have an engine yet?

some serpantine setups spin em backwards.
Take the back plate off and you'll see the blades are different then a car water pump.
