I'd be interested in finding out that as well.

My bf and I contemplated buying some land and building a home similiar, though not as large but we decided to buy instead..thinking maybe in a couple of years we'd buy some land in the UP of Michigan and build a log home.

We looked at lots of places & kits, saw a couple of floor plans/designs we really liked but were curious as to how much it'd cost.

Nice selection though....good luck :)

I know nothing about the Florida market, but here in North Dallas, you can count on a nicely equipped home starting at around $100-115/sq. ft. Now these prices vary from region to region, but that is where we are right now.

hope that helps some.

It is nearly impossible for us to guess what tastes you have ie. what finishes you want, window styles etc. Those numbers I mentioned are an extreme rough estimate.

Well put. Here on the Coast of MS, range all dolled up with 2x6 walls, 2 pc crown, chair rail panel, brick arches, no hidden costs between 115-130, just done right, you will find we are relatively inexpensive for the quality that is received. Jeff

So many variables - type of soil, utilitiy availability, lot/excavation costs, basment, availability of subs in the area, etc.. Only real way is to get bids from locals. Meanwhile try http://www.building-cost.net/ They have a free estimator based on things like how many corners, geographic location, diff levels of upgrades.
