Anyone know where to buy exhaust flappers?
OK Today i finally got around to buying a used pair of 4" exhaust tips
only problem is the flappers inside the tips are burnt out. so... anyone know where to get some? they are the rubber ones. sort of oval shaped and bend in the middle to seal around the pipe. need 2

I thought you were going to Savannah this weekend?
On the flaps, the rubber ones usually don't make it for very long. You can find metal ones (Corsa, CMI, etc.) that have a rubber cushioned edge, but once the rubber cushion wears away, you will here a LOUD rattling noise that sounds that the valve train is eating itself. The purpose of the flap is to keep water from going up the tailpipe into the engine. If you are going to have switchable mufflers on the boat, just close the mufflers when you're not running the engine, just make sure you open them back up once you are running again. Or you could put the rubber flaps that mount on the outside of the tip. Hope this helps.

we were but then saw the forecast and decided to stay home * grumbling* wasn't my idea to stay home
they will be used with corsa switchable exhaust. so theres that method, but i just would feel safer with the flappers there since the exhaust will be coming out about an inch above the waterline. and i don't like the idea of replacing engines from wanter reversion

Good thing you kids didn't come through today or last night. There is 1/2" of ice on all the roads around here, and so far 2 people have been killed in auto accidents. They were showing some news footage of the semi's, and they weren't moving forward at all, only sliding sideways off the interstate.
On the flapper, I understand what you are saying about water washing up the tailpipes. I would try to put the metal ones in there, just note that once the rubber cushion goes away, it will sound like the engine is making small pieces out of the big pieces. The rubber ones probably won't make it past the first "full throttle" run.

Update. The flappers I have now are Teauge ones, ( i guess that explains the TCM part number ) I will call them Monday and see what they can do on a price.
