sell or part out?
I'm stuck here. My boat needs some work and I don't really have the time to fix it so with the market for older boats these days I'm wondering if I wouldn't just be better off parting it out. What do you guy's think? It is a 24 foot excalibur. with a BBC with only about 20 hrs. slightly warmed over to around 470 horse, with a TRS drive.

Re: sell or part out?
There isn't any rot in the boat, but it needs some glass work, there are some cracks where stringers meet in the bilge, and a small area of the hull has some delamination on the starboard side about a foot off the transom. I also need a new set of tabs, since I broke one off in lake Erie's a$$ last fall. Other than that the boat is mechanically sound.

Very cool boat indeed. What have you been trying to sell it for? If you part it out you should be able to get about 3-4 grand for the motor easy enough, say 3-4 G's for the TRS, and depends if you have a merc trans or a BW I would think about 1000 for that. Most of the other stuff will get ya a couple bucks hear and there.

Re: sell or part out?
Jon, my thoughts exactly. I also would avoid worrying about someone finding things to complain about on the boat. At the same time there isn't that much wrong with it. A little, and I mean "little" tlc would make her a real nice boat again, I'd hate to cut her up.
BTW: I was trying to get around 10k. It would kill me to sell it for much less cause I know how much fun this little boat is.

You can probably find some one to buy the hull and trailer when you are done if you do not strip it to badly.
