2005 Winter Chill-Out Success and Thank Yous

First to all of you who made the journey, thank you very much. This was your party, and you made it the best ever. We crushed on attendance this year with 248 people, and I can think of at least a dozen or so folks who ended up not being able to make it due to threatening weather. I say this every year, and though never sure how to top the event; rest assured, next year is going to be EVEN BETTER.

OSO, thank you for being the glue holding this whole group together, which has somewhat grown into an international fraternity of friends, who really do make boating better.

HUGE Thanks to Everyone who donated to the event:

Sonny Haynes Outdoors… Poker Crawl funds
Reindl Powerboats… 4 hour Bat Boat Race School

Key Designs of Key West, Florida did a great job of creating custom T-shirts and making them affordable on short notice. Thank you Derek for your time and efforts.

Ange and Patti/43Thunder; thank you for your time in gathering donations and making phone calls ahead of time.

Several of you including Cristine Gollayan, Lee Martin, and especially Steve and Suzy Gresham worked stations at the event such as the Poker Crawl, T-shirts, and Entry. Thank you for your time.

    On to the fun stuff:

Poker Crawl Winner: OSO Member Zoomer took home 1st Place of $492.
2nd Place and 3rd Place had several ties and were divided appropriately.

    Farthest Traveled OSO members were:
    TopDJ/Brian from New York
    Formula31/Tom from Ohio
IceAngel/Terra from Indiana (although we do want to welcome her on the Stinson’s new move to North Carolina)

    Hardest Partying Group awards:
Although there is no set format for determination, surprisingly, this year was not hard to place.
    1. Lake Murray Gang came in with reinforcements and an agenda this year. Hands down no question 1st Place.
    2. CBPBA; with the efforts of ‘Mud Puppy Racing’, and BobbyB, these folks were EVERYWHERE.
    3. Tie for the RPBA and HRPA, slightly tamer compared to other events, yet just as hammered, you can’t miss any of them.
Honorable Mention: The gang from Tappahannock/Rappahannock; lets just say these folks gathered a lot of attention over the course of the evening.

For anyone I have forgotten, my apologies, and thank you. Please let me know, and I will correct.

Thanks again for everything Brian, it was a fantastic time as usual. Next year we have to bring some more "puppies" to counter the "puppies" that gave the Lake Murray gang their edge. Luckily I was there for the event that pushed them over the top so I am completely cool with that Also scottC is a U-haul dealer so next year we can bring even more beads in an effort to spread the joy Heck, we even have a few backup Mud Puppies still to bring down, next year is gonna be great!!

Yup, thanks much Brian. Was a great time. The drive home sunday was uneventful even though the ice hanging off everything was worrysome.
