OT: Jamo Surround Sound Speakers?
Just wondering if anyone has ever heard of Jamo surround sound speakers. I was just told that the were high end and comparable to Bose. Anyone agree disagree?
I've never heard of them. Comparing them to a Onkyo surround sound set of speakers.

Jamo is ok, not really high end, and bose is far from hi end, if you want hi end speakers look at Revel , are Dynaudio, Legacy audio is also some good stuff, take a look at the Paradigm reference series, but you need to make sure your surrounds match the tones of your main speakers. I like horn speakers and like the Klipsch model line, good luck

Thanks H2Xmark, these are for my father and he doesn't really need high end.
I'm comparing them to an Onkyo surround system and I was told the the Jamo's were much better than the Onkyo's and he compared Jamos to being as good as Bose.
Do you know if Onkyo's would be better?
The Onkyo's:

The Jamo's (there's 5 speakers total):

Lucky bastard!
I have Klipsch reference III tower speakers for front left and right, a pair of Quintets (very small, think Bose acoustimas) for rear speakers, a Klipsch 12" powered sub, and an Infinity center channel.
The quintets are actually good enough to be your main speakers if you're pushing less than 100w per. I was surprised with them. Of course the bigger speakers perform better but I'm sure your dad would be happy with the Promedia speakers, they look a lot like my quintets. I can tell you these speakers far out perform Bose, I had a set of Acoustimas 5's. You might want to buy him a cheaper center channel speaker though, great sound isn't really important on that channel in my opinion.
The Klipsch speakers are the best I've ever had. They are the clearest and loudest. I regularly rattle things off the shelves in the living room. When I'm working in the house I like to still hear the stereo when I run out to the barn for a tool!

Hi Bn Jamo are very good speakers and they go from a entry level to very high end speakers. They are the largest manufacturer of speakers in the world. The cabinetry on the higher end stuff is like a exspensive piece of furniture. Also Bose annot be compared to Jamo. Jamo is a far superior product. I am a dealer for them. I like their speakers but I like other manufacturers lines betterfor home theater. Stay with a company that builds speakers and you will get a bettter product. I would also recommend that what ever you buy stay with the same speaker manufacturer for your fronts and surrounds as they should be sonically matched.

Thanks FWK, I just never heard of them. What do you think about these (again these are for my father) and the set I'm looking at is 5.1 surround:

"sonically matched" - I like that!
