Lucy....I see you live in Aventura....My father lives in Sunny Isles Beach (Ocean One). I will be down again in February or March looking for a winter place for myself. I am getting sick of the New York winters.

Hey Scarabdude,
Welcome, and glad to have you in the area!!! Lots of places to visit but once you get tired of constant idle in the intracostal there is a place, Lucaya Grand Bahama, two hours east that has some beautiful water and can be fairly inexpensive... That would be when it gets a bit warmer and the wind quits blowing quite so much... I will attach the link to the place I stay and if you need any further information just give a yell...

Thanks, Karl

So many great places to go! We have laminated charts at our store that show everything....channels, gas, resturants, etc. They have been very popular with newcomers to the area... Stop by, we're right up the street from American Offshore, stirling rd west to n 29 ave, south, on the right.

Yes, welcome to Paradise. There are too many places to list.
Take the Dania Cut-off Canal East to the ICW.
If you want to go outside, turn left (North) and idle about 12-15 minutes to the Port Everglades Inlet.
If it's too rough outside, you can keep going North on the ICW, keeping the red markers on your left. After you pass under the 17th St. bridge, the 15th Street Fisheries Restaurant is on your left. If you go West down that canal, you'll see Bimini Boat Yard, and at the end the Southport Raw Bar. Both have docks for you.
Across from the 15th St. Fisheries is the California Cafe at Pier 66.
If you proceed North, you'll find the entrance to New River to your left. Idle up the New River through beautiful downtown Ft. Lauderdale. Watch for The Downtowner Restaurant and Pub, Riverfront, Shirttail Charlies, etc, all with dockage for you.
If you keep going North on the ICW, you will eventually see Shooters on your right.
I have to get ready and meet Randy Sweers for a survey. This should get you started.
Ed Cozzi Call me if you get in any trouble (954) 895-4633.

you have arrived to the best place in the world!!! Cruise the ICW for a while and when that gets old just head east 2 hours to paradise. As you can tell, the winds are kicking this week so you may want to explore the inside for a while. Head north or south and stop and any of our watering holes. Check out Shooters tomorrow if it is nice or head up north to the Cove (Deerfield Beach). Once the summer is here forget staying close to home.. time to cross the waters to paradise. Good Luck!!

You do have a decent GPS/Map in the dash of the boat, right?
Get the required chip fot it and you're all set.
Running south is a nice cruise through Miami...
You have to run out in the ocean, down to Haulover inlet, then the inside for some scenery. But you'll need a good GPS for the inside track.
Then down to Elliot Key from there...
North from you.. again, out in the ocean up to the Boynton inlet...
The inside is 30mph, and some "safe" operation...
Don't bother with the Ft. Laud intracoastal unless you like idling your high performance fooshore boat for a LONG time... Lots of bars/resturants though.
Riverfront is always nice.
Welcome.
Post a pic of the Scarab so we can all look out for you.

ScarabDude,
Do as TimG, and Ed Cozzi says, and when it warms up, run the outside from Everglades to Boca inlet, anchor in Lake Boca, and have a with us
Peanut Island, at Palm Beach inlet is a fun place to relax also, but quite a run from Lauderdale.
Shooters is cool, but the idle sucks
Up the river at Downtowner, GOOOD Prime Rib
Oh, and Bananna Boat in Boynton Beach has live bands, and drunk MILFS every Sunday afternoon
Rick
