265 Baja Force Questions!! Please help!
Just bought a 1989 265 Baja Force with twin 350's. Drives were stolen as well as gauges. That is all it needs. Now about the drives, where can I get a pair of Alpha's for it? Which direction do the drives turn (inward or outward?) What prop size is recommended? Please advise.

Alpha's only turn one way. Both the drives on that boat will be RH rotation. There is no reverse rotation Alpha... prepare for torque steer!!! As for gauges, you can get them at many of the OSO advertisers.

There ARE counter rotating alpha's
of that vintage. ( the rotation change
is done by a different lower)
I'd try them outward, probably
with 23 pitch props, assuming 1.5
gearing.

As long as you are searching for drives why not go Bravo in case you want to bump up the power? That would be an awesome boat with a pair of 383's in it! Bravos also solve your problem of finding the counter Alpha as the B1 will go either way happily. You would need to dig up some raw water pumps but if you start shopping now you should be able to find a deal.
You will love the cockpit space of this boat. Some 89's had a semi molded in swim platform and other had the bolts on. Fridge location varied during this year, windshield height and top deck design. I would recommend fabricating a new dash panel as the stock one was a little thin.

All great information out there for me! I am not sure if I am keeping the boat for myself yet or not. This will be a great upgrade from my 21' Chris Craft Scorpion that i have had since I was 16. 22 now, and time to upgrade. I think this will be a good start for me. Thanks for the help guys.
