Re: $50K - 1st Performance Boat - What should I get ?
Dont limit yourself to a local boat.
The last 2 boats Ive owned were purchased 1000+ miles away. If you find something you like and get close on the price, ask the board for help and have someone take a look in person. If that works out pay a serveyor to survey, fly out to see it, exchange money and have it shipped home. The right boat is worth the effort IMO and you are going to be spending a bunch o money, get what you really want. |
Re: $50K - 1st Performance Boat - What should I get ?
I have bought the last three boats from 3,000 miles away.
The last car from 1500 miles away. Do not let distance hinder you in your search. A plane ticket and a good surveyor is cheap for the boat of your dreams. Good luck! |
Re: $50K - 1st Performance Boat - What should I get ?
It doesn't matter where the right boat is, if it's the one buy it. I'm in Washington state and I bought my last boat from Texas and the one before that in Southern California. It makes for a very fun road trip if you can afford the time to go get your "new" boat.

If that 30 Superboat has a cabin for that price, it would be hard to pass up.
But for the old favorites. Cig Bullet, Pantera 28, Cig 28, Apache Brave, Active Thunder, Sonic 28 or an older Fountain 30 or 32 will all do very nice. Its just a question of how new you want verses how big or which brand. (I know I left more out but these were at the top of my head) |
