Well if it's his boat he can do whatever he wants......I would think that a Good pair of hightop's (like the pro basketball players use) would be better, more support and cushion, plus all around softer on you and the boat!!
But, heck I'm just a poor undertaker with a Baja not a Outerlimits

The run went well for us. We never got any test time in before the run. The boat hit the water at 730 pm Thursday night after many man hours of finish work that day. We made a few runs in the dark and then to the docks for cleaning. We pulled out of the marina with the rest of the fleet with a total of 20 minutes of time(minus the dyno time)
We kept it fairly conservative for the whole run and didnt really push the boat at all. When we did finally push it all I could turn was 4500-4650 rpms for 73-74 mph. I dont know if we had a linkage issue or we just totally missed on the 5 blade props. Las and Throttle up are working on that as we speak. We only had one issue and we were able to mediate the problem. We lost an oil plug that sits on top of the big oil pan Everytime we would stop there would be oil in the bilge but we couldnt find where the leak was coming from. We would clean it up, run the engine at idle but couldnt see any leaks. Las Mesa finally figuered it out and I was able to squeeze down in between the engines and spot the missing plug. It was a 30 second fix after we figured it out.(and 5 gallons of oil !!) Las Mesa and his crew were absolutly the best with finishing the project and following thru on what he said he was going to do and by sticking with me and answering his phone probably 50 time thruout the weekend trying to diagnose the problem. He offered to come down to Islamorada, but w/o parts or a parts store open in the Keys it didnt make much sense until we new what we had. It was a great weekend overall and is a cant miss for our Poker Run crew
