here are a couple of the hatch I made, minus the sun-pad, boat is still at the interior shop. I will post picks when it is complete

I did mine with glue ....

I cut the flange off , marked the hatch around the scoop , ground a notch all the way around the inside of the line , fill it with glue and set the scoop in it ..... DONE.

When I say glue , you want to use a good auto body , 2 part , epoxy . MAkes a nice neat ,quick job , if you do it right .

Hardwood makes both glass-on and bolt on scoops. Glass on scoops "may" have a flange on the outside that you can bolt through ala Hot Ducks. Bolt on scoops have studs on the inside for the bolts. Not all sizes and styles are avail bolt-on. Jegs lists both.

Here are a few of when I was having my hatch made.
I blended the scoops into the hatch.
The sun pad is recessed around the scoops.
