Re: Shiny motors

Bilge should not become overly dirty, however belt dust and water from cockpit sometimes makes the bilge look a little dusty and brown. By using a detergent and some water in the bilge once and a while just keeps it looking nice and clean.

As Bruce says, spray everything with the CRC. I like to keep the engine hatch up until the engine cools to remove any dampness and CRC the engine after every couple of outings. Just sold my 98 boat in 2004 and the engine looked like brand new with exception of underside of exhaust manifolds where the heat just burns the paint off! Not a problem with the 500!

Thanks. I thought the WD40 was a water soluable product and CRC would leave a little better protective layer. Thanks for the info.

I use CRC 6-56 or CRC Power-Lube, and spray EVERYTHING!

I know what NOT to use........

Penzoil Corrosion Protectant
I sprayed it all over a set of motors once and I could NEVER get the luster back into the polished aluminum, billet alluminum covers, and painted surfaces!!!
