Re: Fountain VS. Hustler
[QUOTE=32storm]
That may be the case w/ the 32's interior. That may have came standard w/ Mcleod. I dont know for sure. I know the Hustler interior in the slingshot wasnt near the quality of the Mcleod. Not sure what they are offering now.
Yes, he traded it in at Aqua-Mania for the Slingshot. But did not keep the engines. They were rebuilt to the stock HP500 specs that they originally were and put back in the 32 and traded. The slingshot was 1 of 2 I believe 1/2 cabin PR editions. Had 500 EFI's w/ Whipples on XR's from Hustler. They bought the boat w/ no power or drives, had the transom reglassed and re-rigged w/ 6's and 540's making 900hp each.

My factory paper work from Hustler spec's the McLeod cockpit upholstery as standard on a 32 in '96. Not sure what they have done on the Slingshots, but I've never seen one that didn't have the mcLeod interior.
Spectre did your buddy trade his '96 in at Aqua-Mania in the Thousand Islands, and keep the engines out of the 32 for the Slingshot?

30 Spectre...I remember Rick @Aqua-Mania taking in a '96 32 on a Slingshot aprox. 4-5 years ago with owner from Utica area. The boat had green & blue graphics on the side with paint scheme that was typ. Hustler standard paint style of that time( Max -BC Design). Boat had 500's in it. I understood boat ended up going to Chesepeake area. That Slingshot has to move with 540's & 6's.

32, yes, thats the boat. Not sure where it ended up going .
The slinghsot went ok. Another project that never got fully dialed b4 the motors melted. He was running that PFM Digital Injection. What a nightmare. The motors were getting way to much fuel. We lost oil pressure during the 1000 isles PR and that was it. Never got to fully wring the boat out. The state park police broke our ballz about the noise everytime we took it out. I think the best he got out of it was 103. SHould have had more, but, who knows. He put 600sc's in it and sold it. It ran great / that power. I think 95 w/ the wet sump 6's.
Its now somehwhere in AZ or CA

Re: Fountain VS. Hustler
With the stock HP500's, before the blowers and other stuff, the boat ran 88-89 on gps. After smoking the 2 blower motors, they were bored to 509's and pretty much put back to stock. I think on one of the test runs it got to 85 or so. They swapped out the 1.5 gears for 1.36 in the Bravos(for the blower motors) and left them in, so, not sure if it was propped right afterwards.

So after all this 20 or so pages of reading can I stir the pot a little more........ What boat is more FUN to drive. Coming from me I would like to ad talent and skill to my boating...... I don't want it to just lay there...... No fun in that. Never is any fun in that at any time.
