Hey Charlie, Congratulations to you and your fine son! I also won that race in the "modified class" in 1978.
As for the "Hard top" I had the first canopied raceboat ever in a race here in Miami in 1986, and APBA after making me make change after change, the morning of the race decided NOT to let me rce my 28' canopied Pantera, they claimed my Recaro race car seats were not safe, they felt the same about my 5 point harness!!! how about that? Hey whats all this LOL stuff about the "star wars" - that thing was badass. I always thought the grafix were kind of strange on the star wars, but we had one called the "chief" and it was sweet.

Hey Chatim - you show me another boat with a canopy before the Signature any I'll tell you who to give the credit to. My mom said that everyone thought dad was crazy for building that boat. Last week she went down to the docks to see the boats that were in the race off Ft. lauderdale Beach and she said all the boats had canopys, so whos crazy now?
