What about Larry Peto in AZ? He has a 580cu in motor that was on the cover of Powerboat a couple months back. Anybody have any experience with him???

peterson602, you should also take into account location. Do you want someone 1000 miles away to build your motors? Or is there one or more builders closer that might be able to work with you?? In Michigan I'd recomend (in no order) Sterling, Tyler Crockett, Baker Engineering, or Wesco Engines. All are notable and reliable and will stand behind their product.
