P.S. Ray,, as soon as I find a qualified installer at a fair price,, I'll be in touch..
Is the price for cat insurance high? Yes.
Ill let you know my thoughts at the end of the season as to how the dollar per MPH works out.
Maintaining a 100mph+ V hull, now that sounds expensive even to me

Cam / heads / roller rockers = approx 500 hp.. don't feel the intake is worth an extra 2,500 for 25 hp ..

P.S. if you returned your phone messages you would have known..

If you going to do all that you shouldnt have a problem with 525hp +. You will have to throw in a re-map and maybe a fuel pump.

Chris,, all of this is in reference to Raylars engine kits,,, can do the whole kit ( heads, rockers, cam, intake ) for 5,800 + installation and 100 hp, can do heads alone 2,700 for 50 hp, or do heads, cam, rollers for approx. 75 hp.. I'm leaning towards, heads, cam, rollers, for 500 hp..

Do some work on your on heads; 1300.00 cam 300.00 ecu reprogram by Whipple 650.00 approx 2250.00 gets the same results. It is pretty funny listening to Raylar HIJACK every 496 post .There are at least 6 or 7 engine builders that make 525 -600 from 496. Tyler Crocket ,Innovtation,Arizoa Speed, Whipple, Flag Ship, Larrys Engines.I dont ever see any of these guys HYJACKING this site. In Rays own words ,you get 15hp from taking out gasket in exhaust...xthats FREE,so that tells ya his kit makes honest 85hp makes sense to me. I did business with Ray,and listened to his bs. When it all came down to it was a Fn disaster. He sent me rusty cranks that had work done to them. I paid for new parts . He removed all part no. from common parts that can be bought anywhere and told me they were hi performance parts and they are not. Raylar does not give itemized receipts, packing slips or any reciepts at all. Icould get in to more. In the 496 industry Ray will be the first to bash the computer . After my experience with Ray I read all RAYLARS posts and threads .Theres not more then one boat out there running .270 posts. I'd like to hear about 496 ups and mod but not from salesmen thats cheezy . I happened to run whipples 7#s boost 354 hrs comp. is still 160 165 about the same as when we put them on.approx 200hp honest 12 mph . I couldnt say enough. I like the product and it was pleasure doing business with Dustin. My new long blocks are expected to make close 800 hp with stock heads reworked. The engines are a copy of ones Whipples has already done.

Question Re: Need an engine guy in NY, NJ or CT, that can do a cam/head swap on a 496 ??

I think someone on this thread needs to call me on the phone and discuss the issues he claims I BS'd him on. Just like he had to call Tyler Crockett and straighten out the issues he created for Tyler when he was claiming Tyler was ripping him off. This person seems to flip flop like a fish out of water. If I forgot to send his invoice it was because I was so pissed at what he did to me> I can bite my pride but he needs to realize that none of my claims are BS and I can prove it to anybody anytime. I don't sell used damaged equipment and I bet his new 800 HP motors, have the parts I sold him inside. If he doesn't like people selling specialty manufucturers parts to boaters than he is in the wrong industry, seems I have a lot of top companies and engine builders doing the same. If the non-marine shops he gets his work done at don't like someone else supplying the parts, then they should take the time an trouble to go find them themselves. Truth is no one else in the industry has 496 engine parts in inventory on the shelf ready to ship. Guess I should cool off here but I seem to have a basher on my hands. I'll just let our parts at Raylar speak for themselves and anybody that needs any quantity of references can call me personally.

Thanks for your support,
Ray @ Raylar
