Default 500 EFI, Help Identify this Part

Don't have access to boat or manuals and am forgetting the plumbing routes.

Please identify this pump.... Thanks

Thats your sea water pump. What are you looking for? Rebuild kit? Impellor? try this link....shows an exploded view of the parts:

I think its a combo fuel/sea pump.

Yes it is...i thought all the 500EFI's had the combo pump??? Thats why i posted the link to the combo pump

Why do they use both an electric and mechanical fuel pumps?

I think that some models of 500EFIs had them. I know for a fact that my 00' models DO NOT have a combo, electric only.

Well it just goes to show ya that ya learn somthin everyday! I didnt know that and just assumed it from the few that ive done maintenance on for friends. They all had the combo pumps on them. And i also saw the fuel pump in the pic so i just posted that link

Would you expect the same model of engine to utilize the same parts......not from Mercury!! That would make too much sense.

I saw his pumps also and wondered what they were in there for..........

without the mechanical pump they have vapor lock issues and the electric is needed to provide enough pressure for EFI system. Also electric fuel pumps push much better then they pull where as mechanical diaghram pumps pull and prime better.
