Need comments on engine pic...
I'm looking to purchase a boat which is a plane trip away, and the second owner doesn't seem to know much about what he's got. Supposed to be stock 350 mag motors from the early 90's, but they don't look so stock to me.
Can anyone provide some pointers about what's going on in this engine bay? Thanks!!!

Are those some type of selectable run-quiet exhaust solenoids? Another member mentioned that the intake and exhaust might be aluminum and a problem in salt water? Are those considered remote oil filters? Thanks for the input...

Well, as far as the exhaust goes it looks like Gil. Yes, they are aluminum and do get run in salt water, and as far as the air solenoids, they are Mercury silent choice. Looks like the carbs are stock and that is an oil filter remote. With stock exhaust it is usually mounted on the port exhaust riser, but because the exhaust was changed to aftermarket they mounted them there. The intakes have been changed as already mentioned, they look like GM intakes but could be an Edelbrock or someone close. As also mentioned even if its not alot of $, have a tech or yourself do a compression check. If the compression #'s are low then I would do a leakdown test. Nothing worse than just getting a good deal on a boat and have to turn around and repower it. Unless thats what you have in mind. Also have the steering and drives checked out as well. I would have it surveyed. Sometimes 300-500 bucks can save you thousands!!!
