Angry motor will not start

motor will not start...starter just clicks repeatedly...looking at volt gauge it drops to less than 8 when trying to start! I can't figure it out! I changed teh heads and when I took them off some oil/water was in the cylinders but I can't tell if it came out of the heads or not becuase when I broke the seal water came out. The starter is brand new! I just did all this work (heads/manifold) to my motor and now this...I can't win what should I check/do

Sounds like a weak battery. There is enough juice to click the solenoid but not enough to turn over the starter motor. Start with checking the integrity of your battery connections - if ok - then take the battery to an auto parts store and have them check it for you.

Good luck - TJ

This is so frustrating...I just put the battery in 2 days ago and let it charge up...it was clicking before and I thought the battery was dead so I changed it...ugh!

You should check all your battery connections as tj309 said. Had the same problem last summer and after some wiggling on the connections it always started.

I have replaced all the battery cables and connections this year to eliminate this annoying problem.
