Default Water Pressure Gauge

I have room for one more gauge on my panel.

My rigger has suggested one to monitor water pressure.

Fred at Trick Marine thought the range of Zero to 35 psi was best, but admits he is not fully familiar with my application,
the 496 MagHO.

Other ranges choices are Zero to 9 psi and Zero to 90 psi.

Thanks for your help.

Water psi youll need the 0-30 gauge........0-9 is not enough...... and if your doing more then 30 i'd be worried about poping gaskets as most engines dont like more then 20psi.....

I agree.
If you're running more than 20-25 psig on an open system, it's time for a pressure relief device. With closed cooling, there shouldn't be as much of a concern. It really depends on how your system is designed and for what pressure. I am not familiar with the 496 closed cooling system.

The 496 will run about 2-3 PSI at idle and 22-28 at WOT teh 0-35 PSI is perfect, the increments on the 90PSI guage would be too large to be very usefull. Sound like Fred made a good educated guess.
