Default XR Drive Maintenance

Outside of my 25 hr oil change what other maint. should I be doing to keep these drives happy.

I have LCM do my drive pull/grease/align work but don't want to miss something in between.

The best thing you can do for a drive, is to never hammer it out of the hole, and to try to throttle back before re-entry if you get air. Outside of the normal maintenance and alignment, that should make your drive last a long time. Also, a drive shower is good insurance.

Good points.... I do baby out of the hole and thanks to Fred@Trick she has a couple of Simrek showers as well. Being lake dwellers re-entry is not a real issue

I just didn't know if there is any tweaking/greasing/torque checking that should be done.

Every 200 hours do a precautionary total teardown.

And you'll probably need gears every one of those
200 hour teardowns.

I lost a drive shower on my port xr on my tiger and ran without it this weekend. From 930 on sunday morning till 1030 on mon morning i already saw the mineral/chalk residue on the one drive. My first call on tues morning was ordering 2 more simrek's. I even upgraded to the halo model which adds another 10 degrees cooling. drive oil will be changed on monday along with motor oil
