Default Capping Y pipe

I searched and couldn't find anything on this, so be easy if I missed something.
I'm installing thru hull on a 22 Hammer that doesn't have it at all now. What's the best way to cap the Y pipe without having to remove it from the boat. Is there a special cap for it??

Thanks,
Robert

Both (actually all four) are capped in mine. They were done when I got the boat. Caps came from a plumbing supply house and they are double clamped.

I added thru hull to my Baja soon after I bought it. Thought I would add silent choice sometime but I never found the need so they have been capped for 10 years. I used 4" schdl 40 PVC I believe it was a female clean out with a threaded cap to close it. Just measure the OD of your horseshoe and be sure to double clamp it.

Also I recommend coating your newly cut holes in the transom with resin it will help keep moisture out.

Go to home depot and get a couple of the expandable sewer pipe caps with wing nuts on the end. You need to leave the rubber connecting hose on the Y pipe. Looks a little funky but works great. Remember all you are puting them there for is in the event the water level outside is higher then the top of the Y pipe. Not likely.

Yep........mine were some kind of plastic. I use them now to seal the ends of the exhuast tips when the boat is not in use. Keeps the geckos and critters out of the motor.
