cam shafts for a HP 500 EFI, need help fast
I broke a cam shaft on my '99 HP500EFI today. What cams should I replace them with. The motor is essentially stock, except it is bored 30 over with flat top SRP pistons.
I want to get it fixed fast so I do not miss much of the summer.

The stock one is probably the best one. It's already pretty wild for a 502. Call Crane for a replacement. I'm pretty sure they make it and they'll charge half as much as Merc.

Just to close this out, after much discussion with many sources about whether the Crane cam is the OEM replacement, I got a Crane model 164621 cam from Teague Marine for around $350, Mercury wanted $860 for a replacement. According to Crane and Teague the 164621 is the OEM replacement cam. It is a billet cam with a press on distributor gear. Although I have not removed it yet, it appears the distributor gear is what broke on mine.
