To divert or not divert
I've got corsa thru-hull tips and a wishbone, but no diverters.I'm installing new manifolds and risers and trying to decide if the thru-hulls really make a difference on a 460/400hp motor? or should I just hook up the wishbone as was stock? The boat had the thru-hulls when I bought it that someone converted and capped off the wishbone, but I have all the parts to make it work. I don't think I have enough ponies to feel the difference, sounds cool though. What about making a diverter with no internals like Q&Q II??

Re: To divert or not divert
In theory the straight exhaust should make more power. I have read here that exhaust shouldn't be diverted thru outdrive above 3000-3500rpm. Either way u go remember that u are putting a lot more heat into your outdrive when u go that route. If you can, I would think that putting the diverters in would be the ideal.

Re: To divert or not divert
Yeah thats what I was thinking. My exhaust doesn't really go thru the outdrive. There's a hugh gap between the drive and the exit pipe. I'm sure it does get hot down there when on plane. It's only a 3-1/2" pipe compared to the 2- 4" thru hulls. I think I just answered my own question. Thanks
