Do these springs wear out??
Bravo trim indicator, I replaced the cables last year and one of the black plastic rods sticks. Do the springs inside wear out over time or is there a trick to fix??
Thanks,
Thanks,

I used to have that problem then I started taking them apart every spring and running a shotgun cleaning brush thru the tube and lube with some white grease.

Mine sticks all the time.. I have taken it all apart, greased it up, stretched the spring. It works for a while then it sticks again. It usually frees up when I hit a wave. I think it is just a bad design.

Mine has the same problem occasionaly also. I am lead to believe that grease is often used for salt water and oil for freshwater. Oiling the springs helped mine from getting stuck as often.

I've tried the shot gun brush, sanding down the rod, white lithium and grease last year. I'll try PB Blaster (stuff works really well on ructy bolts by the way) but hope doesn't wash away too quick, fresh water this year.
Thanks so far - Any other ideas?
